Free Tool Terms.
Last updated 1 August 2026
These terms govern your use of the free Splash Test at https://trybadmatcha.com/splash, operated by baselane, LLC (doing business as badmatcha) ("we," "us," or "our").
They bind when you submit the form. There is nothing to sign. If you do not accept them, do not submit — nothing else on this site depends on it.
1. What the tool does
1.1 You give us a web address and an email address. We read the page at that address and, where accessible, publicly visible social content associated with it. We return an automated assessment, and we send you a copy plus one follow-up email.
1.2 Every finding is labelled observed or inferred. An observation is something we could see. An inference is our reading of it, and may be wrong. We do not state figures we could not see, and we do not invent private metrics.
1.3 Where a page or account is behind a login, blocked, or otherwise unavailable to us, the output says it was not accessible and not evaluated. We do not treat absence of access as absence of content.
1.4 We apply automated safety filtering to third-party social content before it enters the output. Content touching politics, violence, hate or legal matters is excluded. Ordinary commercial criticism is retained, because that is the signal. Where nothing passes the filter, the social section is omitted rather than approximated.
1.5 To produce the assessment we call the following third parties. We send them the web address you submitted and the business name we derive from it. We never send them your email address.
| Third party | What we use it for | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Trustpilot | Public reviews of the business, read from its public listing. | The submitted web address and the business name derived from it. |
| Apple (App Store) | Public app reviews, where the business publishes an app whose seller address is the submitted site. | The business name, as a search term. |
| Google Places | Public Google reviews of the business listing. | The submitted web address and the business name. |
| Google PageSpeed Insights | Measured loading performance and page weight for the submitted page. | The submitted web address. |
1.6 Each of these is a publicly available service reading publicly available information. Where one is unavailable, rate-limited or returns nothing, the output says so rather than filling the gap.
2. Free means free
2.1 The tool is provided at no charge, "as is" and "as available", with no warranty of any kind, express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranty of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.
2.2 There is no service level, no support, no uptime commitment, and no undertaking to correct or revisit any output.
2.3 We may change, limit, suspend or withdraw the tool at any time, without notice and without liability.
2.4 Rate limits apply per network address, per email address and per day. Attempting to circumvent them, automate submissions, or submit at volume is a breach of these terms and we may block you.
3. What you are telling us when you submit
By submitting a web address you represent that:
3.1 the address is publicly accessible and you are entitled to have that page analysed;
3.2 you are not submitting it to harass, disparage or gain competitive intelligence in breach of any obligation you owe to anyone; and
3.3 you are submitting your own email address, or one you are authorised to use.
You are responsible for what you submit. If a third party complains about an analysis you asked for, that is between you and them — but see section 3A: we will act on their request regardless of what you told us here.
3A. If someone submitted your business
Anyone can paste any public web address into the Splash Test, including yours. If a report was run about your business and you want that to stop, tell us and we will stop — you do not need to explain why, prove ownership to a standard we invent, or agree to these terms, which you never accepted in the first place.
Ask through the contact form (the reliable route — it reaches us directly) or at hello@trybadmatcha.com. Include the web address.
We add the domain to a do-not-analyse list. From then on the Splash Test refuses that address and its subdomains, no matter who submits it. This is a block on future reports; it does not recall a report that has already been sent to whoever requested it. To ask about data we already hold, use the data request route.
4. No confidentiality
4.1 We owe you no duty of confidence in respect of anything you submit through this tool. Do not submit anything you consider confidential. A staging address, an unreleased page, a private link — do not put it here. Use a signed engagement for that.
4.2 We may retain the address you submitted, the output we produced, and the fact that a submission was made.
4.3 We may use anonymised, aggregated data derived from submissions to improve and benchmark our services, and to publish anonymised benchmarks. We will not identify you, your business, or any individual in anything we publish, and we will not publish anything derived from a single submission.
5. The output is not advice, and it is yours to check
5.1 The output is automated and generated substantially by artificial-intelligence systems. It may contain errors and statements that read as authoritative and are not.
5.2 The output is not professional, legal, financial or marketing advice, and is not a recommendation to take or refrain from any action. Verify anything before you act on it, and take your own advice where the decision matters.
5.3 We are not liable for any decision you take, or do not take, on the basis of the output.
5.4 You may use the output internally for your own purposes. You may not resell it, present it as your own work, or use it to market a competing service.
6. Your email address
6.1 We use your email address to send you the output, one follow-up, and information about our services.
6.2 Every email carries a working one-click unsubscribe. Use it and we stop. We do not sell your address, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
6.3 We are the controller of that address. Details of how we handle it, how long we keep it, who processes it on our behalf, and how to exercise your rights are in our privacy notice. Data-subject requests go to hello@trybadmatcha.com.
6.4 Where the tool retrieves publicly visible social content, that content may contain personal data of third parties. We process it only to produce the output, apply the filtering at clause 1.4, and do not build profiles of individuals from it.
7. Business use only
7.1 The tool is provided for business purposes. It is not intended for, or directed at, consumers, and it is not directed at anyone under 18.
7.2 The tool is not available to any person or in any jurisdiction where providing it to them would breach applicable sanctions or export-control law.
8. Liability
8.1 Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
8.2 Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the tool is limited to USD 100, and we are not liable for any loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss.
8.3 You provide this tool with nothing and pay nothing for it. Clause 8.2 reflects that.
9. Everything else
9.1 These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA. Disputes will be resolved by AAA arbitration, Wilmington, Delaware.
9.2 We may change these terms at any time by publishing a new version. The version in force is the one published when you submit.
9.3 If any provision is unenforceable it is modified to the minimum extent necessary, or severed, and the rest continues.
9.4 English governs. Any translation is for convenience only.
